Field Trip

CppCon organizes a field trip on the day before the conference kicks off. This year it was a trip to the Wings over the Rockies museum just outside Denver. It was great for meeting new people and just having a chat while looking at some awesome planes… and bombs.

The field trip cost about £94 or so which included:

1. Coach to and from the museum
2. Entry into the museum
3. Food, and drinks
4. Ice cream
5. A souvenir flash drive

This could be seen as a little pricey, especially when entry into the museum costs around £15 or so. However, when I consider that a 15-minute taxi from the airport to the hotel cost close to $50, and the museum was around 45 minutes from the hotel, it really ain’t that bad! Even if you do consider it expensive, I would still recommend it. I made some friends on the field trip which led to some good conversations throughout the conference. As someone who was attending the conference for the first time, this was a fantastic way to start the conference.
